These pieces are all hand built and crafted. I very much identify  with this most ancient of crafts, to make something with my own hands out of what essentially is just mud.

I like to challenge the elements and chemical reactions that go on in the kiln when fired at high temperatures.

Often the pieces are returned to the kiln for a third or fourth firing so I can layer the colours.

I enjoy the challenge in a world where so much is mass produced, to come up with a sculptural piece full of colour and balance, made of...mud.
